Biodiversity of planet earth is commendable and India in particular is one of the world’s mega diversity countries. It has the richest plant species among several nations. At the ecosystem level, India is also well-endowed with distinct biogeographic zones.

Among its millions of floral species, lotus flower is the most favourite of mine which is not only  a symbol of purity, enlightenment and self-regeneration but also it’s India’s national flower. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human conditions even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus imerges the most beautiful flower. It grows in the deep mud, far away from the sun. But, sooner or later, it reaches the light becoming the most beautiful flower ever. Not only this, in hinduism as well it has a great significance, in fact this flower is hindu god’s favourite flower. According to hindu religion, within each human there is the spirit of the sacred lotus. Moreover, There is a story that the lotus arose from the navel of God Vishnu, and at the center of the flower sat Brahma. Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Protector) and Siva (the Merger) are associated with this plant. Apart from this, the fragrance of this spectacular flower is spellbound. Depending on the species and variety, lotus blossoms can be very fragrant. One can inhale pleasant, fruity or sweet fragrance according to its variety. Not only this, we can also see various establishments representing this ravishing flower for instance lotus temple one of the most unique temple in this world situated in the heart of India.

Hence these are few of the reason why I adore this alluring flower.
