I believe, every individual is blessed with some talents making him idiosyncratic. Human beings possess brilliance in diverse domains – be it singing, acting or writing. The particular talent I am gifted with is painting. Since my childhood, all my art and crafts teachers were amazed by my considerable virtuosity which impelled me to think of honing this prowess of mine.
I vividly remember, when I was in 5th standard and got admitted in a new school due to my father’s transfer, I drew a lake side view. It was my first arts class in which Shammi ma’am, our teacher, asked us to draw a scenery. My painting portrayed the beautiful lake with some people who were engaged in different activities like making sketches of the lake, relishing boating, looking at the ducks swimming in the lake et cetera. All the students and the teacher were astonished to see that how could I capture such a scenic view at this age. Actually, it was a sketch made with mere pencil but was much more magnificent than any colourful one.
I was highly exhorted by ma’am to excel this skill by attending some workshops in my leisure time. Gradually, she persuaded my parents to enrol me in the classes offered by the academy of a renowned painter of our state. Although I have learnt a lot and have tried my hand on different types of sketches, portraits, painting, I want to learn oil painting and fresco. For that I want to apply for International art and fashion internship in Vietnam where I can get a chance to learn more and can also get the exposure of the world’s most eminent personalities of this domain.
The technique used in fresco includes mixing the paints with water which is applied on a thin layer of wet plaster. The painters practicing this style paint the walls and the ceiling with their creative ideas. Whereas, oil painting is practiced by major proportion of artists in which pigments of different hues are mixed with a layer of drying oil. I gradually fell in love with painting while learning how to do so and am working diligently to acquire the skills to become a painter and showcase my art pieces in a gallery someday.
All in all, I would say that children should be given the latitude to explore their hidden talents and should be supported to become well-versed in those.
