In this never-ending rat race of getting wealthier and prosperous from other person, people employ a plethora of ways. Sometimes they are good and sometimes they are bad. Cheating, lying and not providing the accurate or complete information are certain ways which people employ to outsmart each other.
I too have witnessed some of there, and unfortunately also been a victim of some. However, I realized it much later that I was deceived. One such unlucky experience which I would like to share here happened at the time of enrollment in college.
After my intermediate, I appeared for AIEEE and achieved a decent score to get a good college. While I was searching for a college, I was so puzzled to select a particular college as every other college was offering almost the same courses. So, to get out of this dilemma I focused on placements of the colleges with the motive to secure my future and having a job after completing graduation.
Making the decision became a lot more easier when one renowned college provided me the surety of getting placement by flaunting about their 100% placement record for past consecutive years and their huge alumni base. It took over the best of my mind and I took enrollment in that college. After three years, when it was the time of placements, they called many companies but none was related to our core stream, most of the companies which came were solely looking for Information Technology and Computer Science engineers.
I did not know whether it was due to the recession or the fault of the placement cell. I was extremely disappointed by this. It felt like we were cheated and deceived. They gave us false hope that few companies were yet to come. We waited for those companies while few of our classmates appeared for companies which were related to a different stream which do not have much scope for us. Eventually, those companies never visited our campus and we cleared our exams and pass out from that institute empty-handed.
