India is a nation where one can see the extensive queues in a large amount. Every Shrine, government offices, banks etc. consists of long awaited queues.

Here I would like to talk about a time when I visited Golden Temple which is gilded with gold and located in the holy city and that is Amritsar which is also a big commercial, trading, textile and. tourist hub of Punjab. 

I vividly remember, it was two years back when I went there. We commenced our journey early in the morning, thinking of getting free early however, though we reached there at 5 am, we saw that lakhs of disciples were already there to pay homage, since it was the occasion of ‘Guru purab’ which is basically the birth anniversary of the first Sikh mentors ‘ Guru Nanak Dev ji’. Hence, when I saw the line initially I was in dilemma  whether to go and stand in the queue or not but then I realised that this is what the main reason was of my visit, I made my mind and entered the row. The crowded lines were basically segregated in the batches of around 100 people which were allowed to get inside of the temple from four different sides and after the completion of the first batch they used to let the next batch enter and this one process was of approximately 20-30 minutes because the pilgrims used to get out after visiting all the rooms and floors of the temple Finally, after a long wait the organisers let us in and we relished the astonishing inside view of the gold plated Golden Temple. We bowed our heads in front of the holy book and prayed for the wellbeing of our family. Since the servicers were not letting anyone stay there for that long as others were also waiting in the queue, they asked us to leave and we got out of the temple. 

Afterwards, we had a scrumptious community feast again after waiting in a long channel but I think that was worthwhile. 

So, this was the time when my family and I waited in such a long line.
